We are very excited about a new initiative from the Career Development Committee of Financial Planning Association National Capital Area (FPA-NCA) chapter. FPA-NCA is introducing Convergence of Great Minds (CGM), a study group program for members who are interested in professional development through knowledge and experience sharing.
The mission of Convergence of Great Minds is to cultivate financial planning knowledge and best practices. At this time we are seeking members for three new CGM Study Groups:
BEGINNER: This practice management concentration group is designed to cover best practice and operational topics. Members should have one to five-years of financial advisory services. The group meets bi-monthly for two hours on a Friday. Our next meeting will be Friday, December 11 from 9AM-11AM. You may register on line.
INTERMEDIATE: Intermediate Group is ideal for RIA and CFP certificants. This Intermediate Group will focus on current and proposed rules and policies in financial planning, how they affect and effect advisors in servicing clients. The group will meet bi-monthly and a future meeting will be scheduled upon format of a core group. Please contact Bonnie Armstrong or Kathleen Sindell for additional information.
ADVANCED: This Advanced Group is ideal for CFP certificants, financial advisory firm principals or key people of a financial planning firm. Individuals should have a minimum of 10-years of experience in financial advisory services. Our next meeting will be scheduled soon. You may register on line soon.
How to Register for a CGM Study Group: We will facilitate group formation by matching members after completion of the Personal Information Fact Sheet (PIFS). You only have to complete this form once for entry into the CGM Study Group Program. Register on line for the study group dates desired.
Membership in a CGM Study Group allows you to collaborate and exchange ideas with your fellow advisors to achieve your personal objectives. Additionally, participation in a CGM Study Group can assist you in increasing your professional success.
Looking Forward: Do you want to lead a CGM Study Group? Do you have an idea for a new CGM Study Group? Do you have questions about becoming a member of a specific CGM Study Group? If you want answers to these questions or have other questions, please do not hesitate to contact, Bonnie Armstrong at bonzroc@gmail.com
