Our Media Savvy Workshop for FPA-NCA Members will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2009 at Clyde’s Restaurant in Tyson’s Corner, VA from 8:30AM to 11AM. Our regular membership lunch follows immediately afterwards.

Meet our Media Savvy Panelists
Linda Stern/Reuters Linda Stern is an award-winning financial journalist , a personal financial columnist for Reuters and a regular contributor to Newsweek magazine. Stern is author of Money-Smart Secrets for the Self-Employed (Random House, 1997) and Living on Your Nest Egg (Investors Press, 2001). Her work has appeared in many newspapers, including the Washington Post, The Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times, and in many magazines including Money, BusinessWeek,Parents and Good Housekeeping. She began her career as a macroeconomic and tax reporter for Knight Ridder newspapers, and has more than two decades in as a consumerist personal finance writer.
Sandra Block/USA Today Sandra Block has been a personal finance reporter since 1993 and with USA TODAY since 1995. Block has written the Your Money column, which appears every Tuesday, since 1998. She is co-author of The Busy Family's Guide to Money and Easy Ways to Lower Your Taxes: Simple Strategies Every Taxpayer Should Know. Before joining USA TODAY, Block was a personal finance reporter for the Akron-Beacon Journal in Akron, Ohio. From 1993-1994, she was a fellow at the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship program for economics and business journalism at Columbia University.
Court Cook/ABC 7 & News Channel 8 Court Cook is the Producer of NewsChannel 8’s Washington Business Tonight and has been in the television and media industry since the early 2000’s. After graduating as a TV Broadcasting major from Otterbein College, Cook moved to Washington, D.C. Cook began work in Communications for a Fortune 500 company before returning to his broadcast roots. Cook has worked for WTOP Radio, Washington Post Radio and Talk Radio 3WT- Home of the National’s. In Cook’s current role his responsibilities include daily show production, coordinating guest appearances, and networking with the greater Washington business community.
